The WALK4HEARING is our main fund-raising activity for 2017, so we ask everyone please to step up and help.
The actual walk takes place in Cary, NC, on Sunday 15 October, but here’s the surprise: to take part you don’t actually have to go there and walk – there are other ways to help.
• WALK – you’ll need to find sponsors from your friends and family
• SUPPORT OUR TEAM or SPONSOR SOMEONE who is walking.
To do any of these: Go to the website walk4hearing.org , click on Register, then Find a Walk – looking for North Carolina, low down on the left, then click on Register, and there you can opt to Participate, or Search for a Walker or Team to Support:.
The Asheville Team is called “ Hear Here in Asheville! “, But you’ll find it just by searching for Asheville. If you look under that team name you’ll see a list of the participants, and you can choose one to support, or you can just support the team..
• MAKE A GENERAL DONATION on the website. Please be sure to write “Asheville” or the team name “ Hear Here in Asheville! “ under Personal Note
or even easier . . . .
• JUST WRITE A CHECK, make it out to “HLAA Walk4Hearing”, marking the Memo line “Asheville”, and mail or give the check to me, the Chapter Team Captain. My address is at the foot of the page. I won’t be at the July meeting.
REMEMBER: Our Chapter wants to keep working to help you and others with hearing loss, and to encourage the community to greater recognition of our needs. To do that we need to raise funds – and here is your chance to help us do just that. Thanks !
