Vicki has been Disability Rights NC’s Executive Director since December 2007. Vicki has a long history of working in the disability rights arena in part driven by her personal experience with disability. She started her career as an advocate when teaching special education in rural West Virginia. She later moved to Washington, DC where she served as Deputy Director of the National Association of Protection and Advocacy Systems (now National Disability Rights Network) for ten years. She was primarily responsible for managing their technical assistance to the Protection and Advocacy System nationally. Vicki believes that people with disabilities have the right to live in a safe and inclusive environment. Disability Rights NC helps make that possible.
